Pizza Dough

If you want to make a pizza at home, make this dough ideally one day before. The cold fermentation enhances flavor and makes for a better texture.

Pizza Dough

Ingredients

  • 500g strong flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 7g dry yeast
  • 325ml warm water

Instructions

  1. Mix flour with salt in a bowl.
  2. In a separate container mix yeast with lukewarm water (35 °C).
  3. Let the yeast activate for 10 minutes.
  4. Pour the water and yeast mixture into the bowl with flour and salt.
  5. First mix together with a spoon, then continue kneading by hand for at least 10 minutes. Add a bit of flour if needed, in case the dough is too sticky. Or use a stand mixer if you have one.
  6. Divide the dough into 4 pieces and let rest ideally for at least 24 hours in the fridge. Alternatively, you can let the dough rest for 2 hours in room temperature under a towel.
